Microsoft uses snom IP phones at Microsoft Booth at CeBIT

Microsoft Phone System For ABP one of the more interesting news highlights early this year was found at CwBit in Hanover Germany. The news is Microsoft ran their entire phone system at CeBIT on a SIP based system designed partially on their own technology. It was based on Microsoft Exchange 2007 acting as a Voicemail system and PBXNSIP on Windows as application server running all phone features. And everything was delivered over snom IP phones.

Many attendess visited the snom booth examining the new snom370 (available May 1st from ABP) and checking out its exciting XML applications. The biggest news was there were about 60 snom phones working in the Micosoft booth powering the entire phone system in SIP. Of course we had to go over to Microsoft and take a look. As always Microsoft had a well organized booth grouped into the Microsoft product showcase area focusing on the combined launch of Vista and Office 2007. There was a large Solution Partner area and common services area with a coffee shop open for invited guests. We could see the snom phones at all the reception areas and many other key areas an. It was easy see people using them everywhere. Later in the afternoon at the snom booth we also were introduced to some of the Microsoft people that had setup the system for the show. We had a first hand test of the integration of Microsoft Exchange 2007. Clearly the interoperability excited the crowds who observed how acurate and effective the voice recognition component was working.
